SHOCKING figures revealed the scale of knife crime in Wiltshire.

The official Home Office statistics show that the number of crimes involving knives has more than tripled in just five years, continuing to increase each year ever since. There were 295 recorded incidents of knife crime between October 2017 and September 2018, a significant increase on the 207 incidents recorded during the previous year.

Between April and October last year, this may include other sharp object weapon assaults.

109 knife assaults

33 people were robbed at knife point

12 threats to kill

2 knife point rape

2 other knife point sexual assaults
